Anna Bauer

Anna is an epidemiologist and an Assistant Research Professor in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University. Prior to joining the David Lab in January 2025, she was a faculty affiliate in the Suicide Prevention Center and the Center for Women's Mood Disorders at UNC-Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine. In this role, she directed and conducted psychiatric epidemiology research and educated trainees in areas such as mental health equity and assessment of behavioral health interventions. Anna studied environmental science and health policy at Duke before earning her M.P.H. in maternal and child health and then her Ph.D. in epidemiology at UNC. At the David Lab, she oversees bioinformatics workflow development and data analysis while providing research administration and mentoring support for trainees. Outside the lab, Anna enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family, learning to swim, and diving into a good audiobook.
