Kenia Barajas-Salazar
Kenia Barajas-Salazar is a research technician at the David Lab. She joined the team in early 2026, just a couple months after completing a double bachelor’s degree in Zoology/Animal Biology and Environmental Science at North Carolina State University. She has worked as a research assistant at NCSU’s College of Natural Resources and Plant Sciences Initiative, the North Carolina Zoo, and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. At the David Lab, Kenia runs day-to-day molecular workflows, helps standardize procedures, and maintains inventory and equipment. When she’s not working, Kenia enjoys running with her German shepherd, playing soccer, and gardening.
